History lovers must visit De Soto National Memorial located in the nearby city of Bradenton that features exhibits containing weapons, armor and other historical items related to Spanish and Native American conquests and war history. There’s even a fun area where you and the kids can try on some of the armor and costumes.
Learn how to drive your own Segway and take a guided tour of Anna Maria Island at Zegway by the Bay.

Kids of most ages: Playing in the water, riding the waves is a favorite pastime of children here. Have a sand sculpting competition or rent a kayak for a family self-guided beach tour.

Eating: Have a romantic meal at the Beach Bistro but beware, this delicious food is a bit pricey. For a less expensive but still tasty meal, try Solo’s Pizza.
